Good Day,

I'll be on island in 20 more days!!!:@) Did I mention how excited I am?!!

Anyway, I was wondering since I was there last; are there any new places for fresh seafood to buy
and prepare myself? I know that Marina Mkt is pretty good but just wondering if there's any new market
or what you all know from experience. I read here that the Marina Mkt gets their deliveries on Tues, any other day now?
Is there a dock that may have fresh catches coming in that you can buy direct?

Thanks and see ya's soon!8-)

Kathy

G & D Seafood across for DNV in STT is the best. They also serve wonderful dishes there if you chose.

I was wondering as well. I thought maybe she meant the DMV??

Hey Poohwear, thanks for the info re: shipping ahead. I called
Mahogany Run and they gave me a phone # of a service @
the Tutu Park Mall. Only 20 more days and I'll be in paradise!!

Bringing my Mom this visit so should be interesting;)

Enjoy,
Kathy

Beware of local fish poisoning "ciguaterra" found in "reef fish" in local waters...read up and if you have any intestinal sensitivities, do not eat locally caught fish. Google it, it could save you days of painful stomach problems. BTW most of the fish served in the best restaurants is NOT locally caught.

Actually a LOT of the fish served in local restaurants is locally caught. The local fishermen know where to fish and what to fish for - they come from generations of fisherfolk. Cheers!

Hate to dispel your worries about ciguaterra Pooh but it ain't so. The toxin builds in you body and when it's had enough you get it. Very, very, rarely do you get it from eating a fish once. Now if you eat it everyday, then your chances increase, and I mean like for a year or two, not a week. I have had it and have found out much about it including a lecture from a rep from the USDA that comes to the island yearly to research it. And it's a lot more than stomach problems!

Okay thanks for all your input. Is the DMV downtown near the courthouse?

I was happy with Marina Mkt in the past and just wondering if anyone had a preference
for elsewhere.

Has anyone else bought seafood from G&D?

Thanks "guys"!!

When we 1st visited STT I was in awe at how the rum was cheaper than the water:-o

Take care,
Kathy
