How much is a gallon of gas, if that is the fuel for cars used in the VI?

When we left STJ on March 10th I think the gas was going at somewhere around $4 a gallon (maybe a few cents less than). There was only one gas station that had gas while we were there.

33 years: "... if that is the fuel used for cars in the VI?" We drive regular vehicles here just like anywhere in the US. Left hand drive vehicles, left side of the road driving, maximum speed 35MPH, usual driving speed 20-25MPH. I think gas on STT right now is about $3.59 a gallon, and that would be a regular US gallon. Cheers!

When I was in STJ about 3 weeks ago gas in STT was around $3.59/gal and in STJ it was higher - somewhere in the neighborhood of ~$3.89-$3.94/gal.

BILLD, where did you buy gas for $2.50/gal?? I live in Michigan and it's higher than that here.

33years - It varies a bit by gas station but it is around $2.50-$2.60/gal for regular on St. Thomas right now.

Diana - got $2.56/gal for regular at Gottlieb Gas Station, which is in Contant. And a friend said they got it at $2.47/gal yesterday at a different station.

And ...
On St. John its around $2.55-$2.65/gal.
St. Croix, their prices are around $1.70-$1.80/gal.

Imcneil1125 - there are two gas stations on St. John, one close to Cruz Bay and one on the opposite side of the island in Coral Bay.

And the old Texaco is now a traffic circle - (soon to be)

How is the traffic these days downtown?

I bought gas yesterday at Time Center for $2.49. Domino, which has been out of gas for several weeks, re-opened today at $2.97. These are both on St Thomas.

Yes, 33, being out of gas for several weeks IS primative.;)

Also, what other fuel would we use? :S

I'm not sure what 33 years had in mind but diesel is widely used on the mainland and in Europe diesel vehicles outnumber gasoline by a large margin.

Don't want to sound like a idiot but what is a traffic circle? And if the Texaco is out where in Cruz Bay is the only gas station. I do have a map to refer to if I could get a street.

beachboy, where is there a tunnel to New England? I know there are bridges and ferries, but never once found a tunnel. *-)

I paid $2.49 a gallon today but saw it for $2.45 down the street AFTER I filled up. Oh well ..

Also, paid $2.29 a gallon for diesel for the boat yesterday.
