I've heard that the Beach Bar on St. John has a monthly full moon party. Has anyone been? Good time?

Thanks

St John? That's news to me. I'd like to hear about that as well.

In the meantime, there are two "Full Moon Parties" on Tortola very close to each other.

One is at Bomba's Beach Shack in Apple Bay (Cappoon Bay). That one is the original "Full Moon Party" of the Virgin Islands. It usually starts late and goes on until the wee hours. Shoulder to shoulder people, very loud music and decidedly more adult in nature (note the underwear in the decor). It is a tradition to "sign something" before you leave.

The other party just started this summer. It is held in Trellis Bay near the airport on Beef Island. This one starts and ends earlier. Since it is sponsored by local merchants including the Trellis Bay Cyber Cafe and Aragorn's Studio, it is much more family oriented and includes Moko Jumbies, fireballs (either on the beach or in the water -- there is an issue going on currently with the BVI government -- that's another story) and live entertainment. Starting this month the two are both being held the same night (another story as well), so when the Trellis Bay party begins winding down you can head over to the Bomba Shack where the party should just be getting into full gear.

If you go you will want to make overnight arrangements in Tortola.

I may have been misinformed that the Beach Bar holds a monthly full moon party, as nobody on the message board has heard of it. Miss Lucy's sounds good though, are they a monthly occurence? Any details?

Thanks
