Just got back from Europe where I paid as high as $6.85 per gallon. $3.20 on STT looks pretty good.

STT prices aren't bad, all things considered. We stopped in Dominica last month on a cruise ship (after STT), and the price there was $5.10/gl. Yikes! And talk about a country that absolutely cannot afford those prices....

LLBL: Were those prices in US$ or EC? In poorer countries, not many folks have cars!

EE - Yes USD. You are right -- no one had cars there for personal use. The only vehicles on the road were either tour buses hauling people to excursions or commercial trucks.

Much of the rest of the world has always been paying much, much more for gas than the US. This explains why European cars have always been so small. Gas has always been so relatively cheap in the US that few people considered fuel costs when buying a vehicle.

Nick...gas in Europe is much higher because it is taxed at a much higher rate. I cant wait til ethonal is available here. We watched a great show about how it is widely available in South America and it is CHEAP.

These are the prices for premium and regular at the one of the stations in Cruz Bay - cheaper in Coral Bay by about $0.12 per gallon.
