My life on island doesn't revolve around the price of gas. On a 13X3 mile island I'm not in the big driving routine so gas price is not a big deal. Basic iiving expenses (WAPA. etc) are my scourges but they're not of any concern to visitors.

Linda J, we are bound for STX in June. My hubby really looks for the best deal in gas prices. Could you tell us where you buy your gas?? We'd be grateful.

Ok - I have to ask...

Last three times down either to STT or STJ when it came to fill up the rent-a-car/jeep, the gas station attendants have told me we are out of regular - have to use high test. I smile and shake my head, but I am starting to think it is the price of being a tourist. I am not going to get all worked up and blow a week or two worth of relaxation on few extra dollars, but I must admit I am suspect of the coincidence

BTW anybody see a Obama? It would be weird to see a motorcade of limos heading over the hill to Red Hook. Talk about a gas bill. You know come to think about it - I never have seen a strech limo in the islands. There has to be one.

There are a few stretch limos on STT - and when Roy Schneider was Governor it was common to see him being driven around in a huge motorcade complete with motorcycle police fore and aft...
