Is Mahogany Run the only golf course on STT or STJ? Mountain Eric and I were hoping to get 9 or 18 in if at all possible. We don't want to spend an arm and a leg though... anybody know what the current green fees are? Are there any specials or deals to be found?

Thanks!

There are no courses on STJ and Mahogany Run is the only one on STT unless you call the University practice park (no holes) a course.
Most of the courses are on STX. I guess to accommodate the Hovensa oil people.

Any info about Mahogany Run? I checked their site but they don't have rates. I tried calling but nobody answered.. it's probably too late right now.

Does anybody have an estimate of what the current rates are? Is it a nice course? Any advice at all is appreciated. TY!

Mahogany Run is the only course in the VI. You will love it.

I know someone who plays that course almost every day (lucky dog!). I'll ask for rates when we speak tonight and post them. The course is very nice. I have new pics of it (taken in the last week) if you want me to email to you. The course hosts some nice celebrity golf tournaments and is well kept. They ahd a problem a few years back where a groundkeeper sprayed the course with grass-killer by accident and the whole thing was brown for some time. It was terrible. It has recoverd and looks awesome now!

Mahogany Run usually has coupons in one of the free tour books - keep a eye out for them! I THINK it's the "To Do" books.

We checked it out when we were there in June of 2005 and it looked very nice. Didn't take our clubs and didn't have the time to try it out. I googled it found this web site that shows rates http://www.st-thomas.com/mahogany/ you might try it out.

Thanks.. I couldn't find the rates on that site. I only saw rental rates. We are leaving tomorrow morning so it's probably something I'll figure out when we get there. We are leaving our clubs home so if we play we will definately be renting.

The current rates are $145 per person for cart and greens fee plus $40.00 per person for clubs and yes each player needs his or her own set. There's a special, however, that starts after 1:30 pm for $100.00 per person cart and greens fee. I do not believe that they offer only 9 holes of golf.

Mahogany Run is NOT the only course in the VI. (A minor OOPS! there, BluWater) It is the only course in STT.

STX also has three courses. Carambola is an 18 hole Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed course. The Buccaneer has an 18 hole course with some amazing scenery. The Reef is a 9 hole course for those wanting to whack the ball but not seeking a premier, challenging round of golf. The courses don't really seem to be here to accommodate the refinery workers. Vacationers and some business owners are the more frequent hackers and duffers to hit the links. A few good tournaments bring in large crowds, too. The NCAA plays tourneys at Carambola year, and the international finals for Teens on the Greens is there as well.

It seems you have been working too hard on St Thomas (or stj i don't know). St Croix has two very good golf courses ( and a third that is better than ok). The Buccaneer and the Carambola (once Fountain Valley) are wonderful, challenging courses.

They are (for resort courses) moderatly priced. If would be nice if they had lower prices for locals...but.

We are lucky to have these quality courses on STX. Most Caribbean islands have nothing this nice.

I believe the Buccaneer has a summer special for local folks, but I don't know what it is. Anyone interested should contact the golf pros there, Jeanne and Tim Johnson.

To add to STX Realtor- The local golfers on St Thomas love to go to St Croix for golfing weekends. I always run into several of them on Fridays at the airport! 🙂

I did mention STJ had none, STT had one and STX had most (wasn't sure of the number but remembered there were at least 2). I never got to play them, but my Hovensa contacts spoke well of them.
