This year we are staying at the Westin, and tonight I booked a 10day/9night stay there for a total of $2,952.00! Would you consider this a deal? Oh yeah were going July14th-23rd..

Is that the Presidental Suite.......? No really if you like the spot and got the dough and did your research and comfortable with your outcome! There it is.

Well, let me put it this way: we own a Westin St John 3BR villa (timeshare) with private pool and spa (2800 square feet) and are asking $3200 for September 1-8th. I'm assuming what you got is simply a room? My advice is to cancel and rent a villa instead. All villas offer a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and you can choose a studio, 1BR, 2BR, or 3BR. The 3BRs have a private pool and the renovated ones also have a private spa. Check out www.redweek.com. Timeshare owners list their rentals here. Creating an account only takes a couple of minutes and is free. You can search for all of the timeshare rentals at Westin St John. One person is renting a studio from July 14-21 for $2000. Again, this includes a full-size kitchen and washer/dryer. It has one king bed and a queen pull-out.

For my money, the villas are a much better choice.

Thanks, ill check that out. Although every site I go to I cant find availability in July. Also, the renters only rent them for a week, and im going a little more than a week.

I got my timeshare rental for April on ebay and I see a 3 bedroom for your dates in July. I believe the bidding is for 8 nights that week, but you can always move to the hotel for the extra night. It's at $900 right now with 8 days to go.

I'm not sure where you went or what you looked at, but does not cost anything to see the listings. It costs $10 to join if you find some listings you like and would like to contact owners. The $10 is for unlimited access for 6 months. The ad I was referring to for you is listed below. If you don't want to pay the $10, but are interested, I can use my account to send the owner a message, and then put the two of you in touch. You could always go the cheap route and camp for a couple of nights on St John, or rent a room for the last 2 nights at the Westin. Or, you could even check out Caneel for your last 2 nights. I definitely think the studio is a much better deal than a regular room. The only difference is that you don't have daily maid service in the villas. Let me know if you want me to get in touch with this owner....I really don't mind.

Price: $2,000 ($286 per night)
Length of Stay: 7 nights
Available: Jul 14, 2007 - Jul 21, 2007
Owner: jenni davies (jennid2) contact

Unit: 3311
Smoking: No
Pets: No
Kitchen: Yes
Sleeps: 4
Bedrooms: 0
Beds: 1 King, 1 Sleeper Sofa
Bathrooms: 1

Amenities: Deck or Patio, Dishwasher, Laundry - Dryer, Laundry - Washer, Microwave, Refrigerator - Full Size, TV, Telephone

Coco_... You didn't mention how much space you are getting for that price. That would be helpful in determining if that's a good deal or not. Just from the research I did in choosing our villa on STJ that sounds high, but I didn't look at the Westin. Here's a link to the villa we are renting next week...

http://www.cloud9villas.com/Moonsong/index.htm

It looks like it is available in July and is $1820 for a week for 4 people. Cloud Nine also has bigger and smaller villas (as well as a studio) available for around your price at the Westin and lower. Take a look at the Accomodations section for STJ on this site and you'll see links to several property managers who have a huge selection of villas and condos depending on what you are looking for.

Coco De Mer is right about www.redweek.com. I tried to use and filled out everything. It lists timeshares available, but when you click on it for more information (including the price), you are asked for the $10. Totally worthless, in my opinion. I never ran into another site that charged just to see the listing and I looked at Westin villas on over a dozen sites.

Which other sites did you use to view the westin villas? I am trying to advertise ours, but can't find anything that isn't a bundle of money. I thought $10 to become a member was totally worth it because the prices on redweek are a lot lower than other sites. vrbo wanted to charge us almost $200 just to list our villa...with no guarantees of it renting. Ebay is good, but with the auction, it doesn't really allow buyers much time to commit to the trip, so it's kind of a money waster. So, if you have seen the timeshares listed on other websites, which ones were they? I'd like to check them out and advertise ours.

Thanks!

Crystal CoCo,
When we went we rented from a semi retired professional couple that live on the island and manage there own as well as several other time shares. They had very competitive rates and are very professional to deal with. They handled all sixteen of us in four different villas. There web page is http://www.stjohncondos.com/make_res.htm
Hope this helps.
Jay

The room I was quoted for was just a single room with king size bed. I can canel anytime before June 29th without being charged. I think my best bet would be to rent a villa. Now what differences are there between the studio and the 1 bedroom? Thanks for the site I will check it out.

The web sites offering the most Westin villa rentals (that I found) were www.wesinresortstjohn.com, www.vrbo.com, and www.vacationtimesharerentals.com. There is also two timeshare users' group web sites where you can advertise. I think it was www.tug1.com and www.tug2.com, but could have been .net. Use google and search under St. John Westin villa rental and you will find them. Ebay will allow you longer listings. I saw a 7 day listing and already had my air and hotel reservations. I knew my hotel reservation was cancellable with no penalty so I bid.

Hi CoCo...you should check out Estate Lindholm - at that time of year I know the cost would be much less than the Westin price your quoted, you can walk to Cruz Bay,, walk to Honeymoon Beach, you have a view, it is a lovely intimate B&B type in a lush setting, adult only, I think there are only 18 rooms, a splash pool that overlooks Cruz Bay harbor, sits right next door to Asolare, and in my opinion it has the best view of the sunset on the island !! The owners, Brion & Lauren, are extremely helpful and very hands on... you will NOT be disappointed! Another perk, price includes a very yummy breakfast by the pool every morning and a Honors Bar... Have a great trip !

Hi CoCo
Here is the villa we stayed in Jan. it is open for your dates and i think it would be close to the same price for the extra nights added on.
