We are coming down for Thanksgiving and have heard that there is a Costco or something like it near Tutu park. If so, does this facility require a membership for tourists?

Thanks in advance..

It is called Cost-u-Less and it does not require a membership 🙂 There is one other called Pricemart andthey do require a membership fee but it is not very expensive 🙂

Yes it is... Cost U Less is in the Market Square East. About 2 minutes away, if you continue on the same road, you will come to the Tutu Park Mall.

PriceSmart is closer to the Tutu Park Mall than is Cost-U-Less. PriceSmart charges an annual membership of $10 but is NOT required. If you do not want to join, they will tack on an additional percentage to your final bill at checkout for not being a member.

Personally I'm not a big fan of PriceSmart in comparison to CostULess. Each to his own but I find the selection at CULess and it's pricing to be superior to to PriceSmart. That said, I purchased a stand-up freezer from PriceSmart at a time when I was desperate and couldn't find what I wanted anywhere else. As far as general groceries and produce are concerned, I way prefer CostULess and my general shopping is between them and Plaza Xtra which is in Tutu Park Mall. As Anita pointed out, CostULess is a 2 minute drive away from the Tutu Park Mall. Cheers!

I don't think it matters which store you go to. Price Mart, Cost U less, or Plaza Extra each have there advantages and disadvantages. We live here and shop in all three. Each has better prices on different items. If you are going to stay here for a week or so it will not matter which you go to from a dollar savings view. Cost U and Plaza Extra sell fruit and veg by the pound. Price Mart sells them packaged. Price Mart has soda at 4.19 a 12 pack and Cost U less sells them at 4.39. And so forth.

So buy what ever you need where ever you want to shop and then enjoy.

Thanks all!! I think I will try Cost-U-Less if I can find it.

I think it is the one that up by the Home Depot, right? If not, can someone provide directions from Point Pleasant?

Thanks..

It's an easy drive, just two main roads to drive on.

Road one: Smith Bay Road.
Exit Point Pleasant and turn right, you will be on the Smith Bay Road. Drive past the entrance to Coki Point and the road will begin to slope upwards, this is Cassi Hill. Crest Cassi Hill and continue down the road to the bottom and make a left turn. There is a triangle here, and you must yield. You will have passed a fire station and a gas station.

Road two: Weymouth Rhymer Highway.
Drive along this road and soon you will see the sign for Tutu Park Mall on your right. Stay in the lane that proceeds forward, and you will pass a Kentucky Fried Chicken on your left (Fort Mylner). As you continue to drive, you will see a turning lane, but you will have to cross oncoming traffic that does not have to stop and making the right is dicey. I prefer to drive to the traffic light to turn right into Market Square East (Home Depot) is in this area, to the rear of the property.

By the way, you will pass Price Smart on your left as you approach the turnoff to go to Cost U Less.
