We are visiting the STT in July for 9 days and will need to buy some groceries. We get in on Sunday around 3pm and by the time we get to our villa it will be close to 5pm.

What the the recommended grocery stores? We are near Mahogany Run.

THanks.

I think it's worth the extra drive to go to Food Center or Marina Market. Marina Market's in Red Hook. Small, but they have a good selection. Food Center is on the way to Red Hook. FC is clean and quiet. I find Plaza, while large and stocked with lots, can be jarringly loud & busy.

Best,

LR

Sorry, dear LR, but have to agree with G-Dub-Ya on Plaza Extra and on a Sunday afternoon/evening it's very quiet. Food Center is owned by the same family who own Plaza Extra but I find their prices rather higher while Marina Market is, at least to my budget-conscious shopping mind, VERY expensive.

Enjoy your visit, Carl!

We also shop at Plaza Extra and you WILL find the prices are better. Also look for KMart at the other end of Tutu Mall they have food and liquor bargains also. We do shop at Marina Market but only for the yummy bars and cookies. 🙂

I vote for any place for your canned goods, Marina Market or Fruit Bowl for produce, Marina Market for fish and meat.

I find that the Plaza Extra/Food Center people put price stickers over the "sell by" dates. They also sell produce pre-packaged and I like to look over what I am buying.

Staying in Red Hook, we found the Marina Market very convenient. We didn't buy that many things down there anyway, because we ate out mostly, except for breakfast.

Husband had an excellent hoagie made there for 7.50 and it was pretty big.
