We will be staying at Elysian Beach Resort and wondering where we should buy our groceries/booze. What are their hours? We will arrive on a Saturday late afternoon and wondering if they are open Saturday evenings?
The nearest to Elysian would be Food Center and they're open late as are all the supermarkets - at least until 10PM. Also in Red Hook is Marina Market which is a smaller place and very expensive. My recommendation is to purchase at either of those only what you absolutely need for the evening and the following morning and then head off on Sunday to Plaza Extra in the Tutu Park Mall which is about a 10 minute drive. The selection is larger, the prices are much cheaper and you'll get all around way more bang for your buck than at either FC or MM. If you're shopping for a family rather than just a couple, carry on further past Tutu Park Mall and go to Cost U Less which is in the Market Square East complex - very easy to find.
Thanks. So is Cost U Less not open Saturday night or are we just better off to head to it on Sunday? What time do they open in the morning? Don't want to spend all day in a store 🙂
Yes, they're open on Saturday night. On weekdays they open at 9AM (rather later than most markets) and on Sunday I think 10AM.
