Does anyone have any information/opinions on Hale Lani and Miles Away? They both look beautiful, from the web but I can't picture there surroundings ie: on the road, construction near by, lots of neighbors. Any information will be appreciated.

I'm staying at Hale Lani in April. I rented it through Destination St John. She says it is secluded, and I see that now they have an aerial photo: http://www.destinationstjohn.com/hale_lani.html -- so it does look secluded. I stayed in that area (Maria Bluff) two years ago and loved it since you are right out on a point, close to the ocean, and still very close to Cruz Bay.

Miles Away also looks gorgeous and is just a bit further of a drive, but it's probably still pretty convenient to Cruz Bay.

Happy villa hunting!

Hi -- perhaps you have already booked your trip by now, but I just got back from Hale Lani and can say that it's just beautiful. Excellent views to St. Thomas, nicely appointed, airy. It has a smaller deck area around the pool (maybe an issue if you have a full house but fine for the two of us) -- but there is a lovely lani above the pool deck if you are looking to lounge in the shade or take a nap. The main building includes the kitchen/dining/living area. Attached by the lani is one king (two twins together) bedroom and bath -- almost as large as the master. On the opposite side is the master bedroom/bath (again two twins that make a king but feels fine). The lower level has two rooms that connect with a door. One has a queen and the other two twins. They share a large bath. The landscaping is beautiful, too. Overall there's nothing to be afraid of! Wherever you stay, enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much for the reply. We did book Hale Lani. There will be four of us. My husband and myself
and two teenagers. We are looking forward to it. Destination St. John seems very nice to deal with so far.
We were glad to get your review that it is a nice villa. The reviews are so helpful to others so hope more
people post villa experiences. We are going at a busy time- Spring Break. Thanks again.

Just have a few more questions. Destination St. John does not list the amenities of each villa like other rental agencies do. The gal at Dest. St John said "don;t worry it has everything you need." Wanted to confirm that it has
a washer/dryer, dishwasher, Hairdyers,T V/DVD player (teenagers coming with us-fun to watch movies at night sometimes)
and a safe. Like to put passports away etc. Beach chairs/towels etc. We just booked advantage "miles" so we
have our air tickets-so glad to have all the planning done. Don't think there is a hot tub, but we are happy with a
pool.
