HI everyone,

I have not posted in a long time...i have been reading, but not posted. I thought that maybe its time for me to jump back in. My husband and I are coming down July 21- Aug 2 staying with his father. My husband is from St. Thomas and left when he was 18 (24 now). I booked my tickets leaving from Washington DC..non stop flight on untied. For both of us it was $631.54...so i thought that was a good price. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

Hello Destiny
WOW I'm jealous of your fantastic airfare, I just booked yesterday leaving Little Rock Arkansas for $1125.00 with one stop in Atlanta. I have been watching airfare for a few months and it was staying around $700. to $885.00 so thought I would go for it...well with travel insurance and an airfare increase the day I booked, the total was up there. I want to get back to the islands so much I decided to bite the bullet. I'll be there June 23 thru 29th. Hope you have a great time.

Hi Destiny!

We will be on island July 27th - August 12th. My daughter, son in law and grandson will be arriving August 1st (they are your age!). We've been planning our trip for the past 4 months and can hardly wait! The forum is a great place to get good information and make friends.

Hi Destiny. Glad you are posting again.

How does your husband feel about going back? Is he excited?

Does he have much family left on the island?

Hi Bluwater,

Thanks for the answer back. My husband is excited to go back, he has been dying to go back everytime he talks to his father. His father and step mother, aunts and uncles are still there. His grandparents just moved from STT to PR couple months ago. His father lives on the north side way up in the hills. I can't wait to get back also.

Destiny,

We are flying out of Atlanta, GA, my daughter out of Huntsville, Alabama, my step daughter out of MKE (Wisconsin) and my son.........well, we are still waiting on him. He is interning this summer (engineering) and we don't have his location down yet. My daughter is staying in Cruz Bay (a friend's apartment) and we are staying on Ajax Peak. Yes, I am a psychotic planner (I am building a binder with tabs!!!) This is our first trip to St. John, and we want to make the most of it. Bryon and I (late 40's) are getting married 8/3 on Hawksnest Beach.

Destiny,
Welcome HOME! There's no place like home.....

Sleeper18,
Have a girlfriend and her hubby that live in Little Rock who are both from the islands! She is from STX and he STT and their 2 boys were also born here. They moved up, and built their house to withstand hurricanes!!! Guess building that way is in the blood! They seem to really like it up there!

Hi Sherri
WOW a move from USVI to Little Rock, glad they like it. At least building a home to withstand hurricanes is good since we are in tornado alley. I'm sure they have discovered that already..
