Howdy,

I am looking for someone to correspond with on St. Thomas who is familiar with the history of Jean Baptiste Anduze (aka John Anduce, and Juan Bautista Anduze or Anduce) who was born on St. Thomas around 1828 to Jean Baptiste Anduze (who died in 1856). I know the Anduze family was important on the island at the time and there must be a few people that would like to know more about this wandering son and his adventures in Mexico. He arrived in Cozumel in 1848 and was one of the most important landowners and businessmen within a couple of years. His daughter gave birth to a son who carried on in his grandfather's footsteps and today, his descendants are spread all over Yucatan.

Until recently, the Mexican side of the family did not know about the St. Thomas side of the family, but during the research I did for my most recent book, The True History of Cozumel, I uncovered the connection and a lot of interesting incidents regarding the Anduze clan.

Anyone out there with information to share?

Thanks!

or the VI phone book for information on ancestor.
Lots of Anduze's in STT.
