Help-can anyone recommend staying for 3/4 nights at the Holiday Inn. I've come across so many negative reviews on this hotel.

i've stayed there twice when i've come over from st.croix, it is what it is, it is not a beach resort, it's on the edge of downtown, the rooms were very clean and the outside is very well lit, it's across from the sea plane and bvi ferry, rental cars and cabs are right there

We stayed there Thanksgiving weekend 3 years ago and for a week last May. The rooms were fine. No hot water problems. No house keeping issues. The pool was good, very few people in the pool. Each room has a dorm size refrigerator. It's not a beach front resort. It's a hotel, and that's what I think generates the negative reviews. Also many of the negative reviewers had, shall we say, personality conflicts with the staff.
As was stated, the location relative to CA and transportation are major pluses. We always had a car to get to the beach or go out at night. We even walked along Veterans Drive after dark with no worries.

Hi Bass....i saw where the holiday inn was on our way in and out of CA. Do you know how their prices are for their rooms?

Personally, I don't see the advantages of staying in a holiday inn if you're going to STT. LIke you said, it's not on the water, you have to drive to any beaches and to me CA is one big jewelry store.

Nice to visit and shop, but I wouldn't want to stay there when STT has so many other areas that I think are nicer for that tropical feel.

Ingrid,
I live on STX! But when I go to STT and have to stay a day or two, I'll stay at the Holiday Inn. It's fine for a short stay or a tight budget. Try to get a room with a view of the harbor. The rooms are clean, staff is great.

Connie,
I have no idea what the normal price is at Windward Passage. I've always gotten a hefty discount. Travelocity put the price around $170 per night the last time I checked through them. I've never paid even $100 per night.
