Hello everyone,

I am taking my beautiful bride down to St. Thomas for our honeymoon in May. We are staying at the Marriott and was wondering if you could give us some advice on what and what not to do. First off, we are beach people and just like to relax on the beach during the day and go out to dinner at night. How many days out of seven should we get a rental car? What are some good sunset dinner/cocktail cruises to go on?

Thanks so much everyone for your help. We're really excited to check out all that the USVI has to offer!

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I'm hoping you'll get some good answers as our family of 4 will also be staying at the Marriott soon... we'll be there in June. We plan to rent a car the entire time (Dependable Car Rental) and take the car over to St. John for several day trips.

Blackshirt, welcome to the forum and congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!

I think the forum member are hopeful that you'll read back into the posts and gather an agenda of our top ideas, based on other posts....then come back with questions on specifics, if any. There are so many requests for this same info....and for us to type the same info over and over gets boring and time consuming for us. Just take the time to read back on older posts....then come with more specific questions. e love discussing the VIs and are happy to help you. If you really get stuck, of course, we'll detail suggestions. It's just that so many people pop in here with questions that we take time to answer...and then they never even come back to see the responses.

Rent your car from Hotwire and rent it for every day. At $15 a day, you don't need to worry about taking it in and out of rental. Marriott is not close to anything. Unless you are staying on the property, you'l need a car or taxi to get around. Car is best.

Jeff

If you email [email protected] I will send you the information that I give to friends that rent my condo at Sapphire Beach. It isn't specifically geared to honeymooners, though I have sent it to many, but should give you some ideas.
