This may come off wrong, but I'm wondering why you would ask this to the forum rather than checking with the hotel (or at least their website) directly?

The web sites don't mention the deadline for booking the special rate. I've also checked the USVI tourism website. Clicking on their "specials and promotions" brings up - this section under construction

I'm pretty sure the cutoff is Jan. 31!

Thanks for trying islandrealator. I saw that site in my search but if you read the ad you will see that it is from last year. The booking cutoff is listed as Jan. 31, 2008. It's not a typo. It's a shame that the people of the USVI pay hundreds of thousands of dollars on websites to promote tourism and they get incomplete and non-maintained websites. That's why I'm trying to get the info here. I thought that someone on this board may have worked at one of the hotels in the promotion or knew somebody who did.

I checked the Marriott website and the St. Thomas location has a free night special that appears to run the whole of 2009. No booking deadline is noted.

Wyndham Sugar Bay has a 4th night free special which also appears to run the whole of 2009. Again, no booking deadline is noted.

The Westin on St. John has a 5th night free special that is good for stays during the whole of 2009. Bookin deadline is April 30th.

All of these offers I found by going right to the hotel website and choosing their USVI location. Granted they are major chains, but unless you can be more specific about the offer to which you refer (since you seem to have one in mind), that's the best I could do.

I really didn't intend for someone to do my homework. I did check the websites of the hotels I was considering. None are chains. They made no mention of booking deadlines but I'm pretty sure there is one. I was hoping that somebody knew the answer without doing research. I also didn't want to have to make a decision by tomorrow.

Hillcrest Guest House special if you book 3-7 days you receive 1 free day, expires Feb. 14th, but will be extended to Dec. 31, 2009.
