It's been years since I was there and when I was I had finally had some what seemed like peace over me that I was away from daily stress, no phone, no t.v., no newspaper etc...Everyday I think about St. John and how lucky the locals must be to live there. I would give anything to be there right now. I miss that sitting on the beach and the peaceful feeling I got. I hope to be there in the spring god willing. Anyone else feel this way that nothing else matters when on the island?

I think you captured it very well. We take our annual "husband and wife" vacation on STJ. For just this one week we are able to leave it all behind and focus just on "us" (okay - we really do love and care about the kids, but... to make my point....). We've not found anything or any place else that gives us that total freedom to enjoy our time away and together.

Awww Man! Now you've made me "island sick" - I need to go back!

OMG, That's exactly what I was trying to say. I love our kids to but so need to leave them home and just focus on ourselves and the beauty of the island. The peace it brings is like no other I have ever experienced before. I would even come alone if I had the chance....

I have to check all three of the webcams daily to get my dose of the islands. I'll be back in January and that is not soon enough! There is nothing like the peace I feel when I am relaxing on the beach after a good swim and snorkel. Watching the whole family smiling from ear to ear knowing that they all feel the same.

Could you tell us where the cams are? I know of the Spice cam and Serendipity. What is the third?

There is the Magen's Bay webcam and the Chocolate Hole webcam. Sorry, I've tried to post the links before but it didn't work. Just Google them and add them to your favorites.

I just checked out the Serendipity webcam, It's the same as the Chocolate Hole webcam.

WE LOVED St. John.
We went for the first (& not the last ) time last fall. It was truely amazing.
This year we were planning on going back for a weeks stay there & then one week on St. Croix until I started a conversation on the board about splitting up the trip. MargyZ, who is of incrediable help, persuaded us that we should spent the whole time on St. Criox.
So, she helped us locate a villa, gave many suggestions on where to go & what to see.
Now all we are waiting for is next Saturday, the bags are packed, (light!) we way over packed last year.
I hope that both you & we get back to St. Jonn soon!
