Well..we went to Coral World last year and enjoyed it very much. We are planning on going to the beach there again this year (Coki), and the kids agreed we would probably skip Coral World this time around. Its a great place, but once is definitely enough 🙂 even for my 6 year old.

We just got back from St Thomas after spending a week there. How old are your kids? Adult admission is 18.00 p/p but coupon books/taxi drivers offer 3 0r 4 dollars off admission. Can't remember how much kid admission is. The undersea observatory (round building out in the water) is very cool. Kids would love it! Fish in natural environment, and scuba divers are in the water feeding @ certain times. Sea turtles, sting rays, sharks, star fish touch area, etc.. are all there. (did I mention the iguana's) Nice couple of hours if you are looking for some fill to your vacation. While in St Thomas definitely go to Water Island. Water ferry leaves from Crown Bay Marina and takes 5 min. (4.00 fare) Honeymoon Beach is very nice with food and drinks. First time I ever swam with a sea turtle! Everyone here is super friendly! Tell Joe & Wanda @ the Bohemian beach bar Tequila Trish said Hi! Need any other info, Email me!

FYI, Coral World added some new attractions in March - Adventure Isle and swimming with sharks.

Adventure Isle is an inflated water park with slides, dive boards, etc. Looks like fun for kids. I think there's a picture on the website. Admission price includes Adventure Isle.

Swimming with sharks is extra. More details also on their website.

Coral World is worth going once, especially with your kids.

Has anyone done the swimming with sharks? We have a few hours to kill on St. Thomas and were thinking of going to Coral World. We're wondering how the swimming with sharks experience is.

Is Coral World worth it if you don't have kids? Or is there something else to do on St. Thomas if you only have 2-3 hours?

mischievous,

There's so much to see on STT. If you only have 2-3 hours on St. Thomas I'd save Coral World for your next trip when you have more time. Grab a taxi and tour the island. 🙂

Island Girl - can you please offer more info on Water Island for me. I'm interested in the Water Island Villas for a 10 day stay in July. The website looks nice, but looking for someone that is familiar with the area.
Thanks

It really depends on your length of stay. If you're there on a cruise ship layover, then DON'T go - save your time for Magans Bay and downtown shopping. If you are there for several days, the definately take this attraction in. There's plenty for kids and adults to see, and Coki beach is very enjoyable.
