Does anyone know what they do at the STT airport if luggage gets waylaid and doesn't arrive when I do? Will I have to retrieve it or will they send it to STJ? I was thinking of putting everything I need into my carry-on, but packing food and things we could live without in a checked box or bag.
Thanks for a reply if anyone has had experience with lost luggage.

they will send it to your hotel or villa but it can take a full day, I have gone to the airport in stt to retrive my luggadge more than once,,it was just easier than waiting at the villa all day(San Juan has been a black hole when I travel)

If you are going through San Juan, it is best to carry on when possible. I've been traveling to the VI for 37 years - and the stories of San Juan and lost luggage are notorious.
