Has anyone stayed at the Island Beachomber Hotel? Is it in a good location? How was your stay? Any information would be appriciated.
Thank You

I THINK this is the one near the STT airport on Emerald Beach (can someone confirm?). I stayed at the Best Western Emerald Beach one time. It was clean and nice - - great beach, too. To be honest, if this is what I'm thinking of, the Island Beachcomber looked pretty run down, at least from the outside.

I could be wrong, though....

Nope...I'm right. I did a quick search on the internet. It's the one I'm thing of.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel on the beach - - I would steer you another direction. The Best Western Emerald Beach is usually $100-$150/night. Same beach, close to the airport. Much better condition/amenities. Nice pool. All rooms are beachfront. Nothing fancy - but well-kept.

I ditto this!! Island Beachcomber looks pretty run down. Food was not good and they had 2 cats roaming around on tabes, and in the kitchen. Right next door, Best Western Emerald beach much nicer and clean. Food Good and reasonable.

Cats roaming around the tables can be found at every outside restaurant on island. We try to keep them away, but they always come back! Think of them as "ambiance".

The hotel is a dump honestly. If you are looking for something affordable and decent I would recommend the Galleon House, rates are around $70 or less a night, and it is smack downtown so you dont have to taki everywhere and you dont hear the planes across the street like at the beachcomber. The owners are also very nice, and there is a pool.

You can also rent Sapphire Condos for $100-$110 a night if that is in your budget. You get a kitchen with those which is nice, and they are 100 yards from Sapphire Beach they overlook the marina.
