My boyfriend and I are coming down from Seattle to St. Thomas from June 24th to July 2nd. I am courious about traveling to St. Maartin, for a day or night or so. Is there any ferry service, or any kind of such transportaion offered? And what the cost may be?

Thank You!
Shari

It is not within ferry distance, but check LIAT for island hopping fares. Not a day trip, but you could split your time.

My suggestion is if you only have about a week...stay on St. Thomas, go to St. John, take a trip over to the Baths and Jost Van Dyke, or even Tortola.

There's so much to see in that area, that a week isn't enough...but it's beautiful to get out on the water and there's alot of boats that can take you there.

I echo what Connie said. Only I would stay on St. John and island hop to Jost, Tortola and St. Thomas. 🙂 Actually, there's really enough to see and do to keep you quite happy just staying on St. John. You'll find you'll want to spend several hours at each of the beaches you visit, snorkeling, relaxing, napping, whatever. Don't try to pack too much into your first trip.

Oops, just saw that you've already plans to stay on St. Thomas. In that case...I agree with Connie! A visit to White Bay on Jost would be my first choice; but don't just visit the Soggy Dollar bar, take a hop over to Ivan's Stress Free Bar next door also. Much more relaxing, in my opinion.
