My wife and I just enjoyed 9 days of beautiful sun and clear blue Sky's, not to mention the great water, clear and blue as the Sky's. We stayed off the beaten path at the Cabrita Beach Resort Condo, not much of a resort but a nice quiet condo. There was water right off of our deck, but it was all rocks and nowhere to walk into the water at. That was the only issue of where we stayed. We had the end condo so it was nice and quiet to relax.

We went to many of the bays to relax and snorkel, Magens, Hull, extremely quiet and decent snorkeling, Coki, too busy for our liking, nowhere to sit unless you got there early and if there are any cruises ships docked, don't go. We took the car barge over to St John one day, leave early if you want to go to the better bays, mainly Trunk Bay. Trunk Bay was rated the best on St John's, we just never got a chance to enjoy it. If you have a car and try to park it can be very hard to find parking. Most visitors take the ferry over and then a taxi to the bays, it is much easier then. Off of the path is Leinster Bay, it is a 20 minute walk to the bay, but worth it, very nice.

We did 2 different boat trips. One was with Jester ( http://www.sailjester.com/home.htm) and I would highly recommend this trip. Leave at 10am and get back around 4, sail over the Honeymoon bay off St John, snorkel swim and just relax on a nice sailboat. I recommend the Jester Juice, best on the Islands, hands down, better than any Pain Killer. He made a great lunch right on the boat. He only takes out 6 max at a time.

The other trip was New Horizons II, it was more of a speed boat style, but we went to the BVI to see the Baths, snorkel off a nice reef , have lunch at Pussers, and finally over to the Soggy Dollar. We met some really nice people on this trip, about 20 on the trip.

We have to mention Latitude 18, it is on the opposite side of the Red Hook Harbor. Don't be fooled by the road to get there, you will think the road goes nowhere, but it worth the bumpiness to get there. Excellent live bands every night.

Now we are back in Wisconsin and 50 degree weather, it just doesn't seem fair to come back to this after a great time in St Thomas.

My son use to live there. If you walk down past the pool as you come in towards Vessups Beach there is a place where you can enter the water. Some of the best snorkeling I have ever done was in front of those pink buildings. I definitely agree - condo?

Not very large but a great location

It sounds like you saw a great deal of the area on your vacation! You even were brave enough for the road to Latitude 18! Now that you have had a taste, you will need to come back and see more. Where else did you eat?

To be honest with you, it sounds like a marketing ploy to call the Cabrita Point Condos "Cabrita Beach Resort." They are individually owned and operated and are not a part of a hotel management group as some of the other condos are. I am not sure how you found it, but it is my one warning about places like vrbo- you have no recourse if the place isn't as the owner advertised. We had friends who rented a condo through the owner (in another east end complex) and when they arrived there was minimal furniture, no phone or TV because there had been a domestic dispute about the property the week before. They had to call around at the last minute and had friends pull strings to find something. So, just be careful out there! 😉
