Which island? If you are of speaking of STX, you are probaly out of luck. Everything is full of Hovensa workers.

We are headed for STX in 23 days. What are Hovensa workers?

Hovensa, the oil refinery on STX, is undergoing a major overhaul. I'm from Michigan and I liken it to the retooling the auto plants used to do. There are about 2,000 skilled tradesmen/women here for 4-6 weeks. Makes for a lively "slow" season.

We rented timeshare villas at the Westin from this couple in Feb. and we had a couple that got a last minute deal from them. http://www.stjohncondos.com/index.html
Hope this helps.

Sorry I wasn't clear. We lived in Flint in the 70's. We've been on STX for 4 years.

Thay will be in the Cruz Bay area , no car , will be dependant on taxi's. They have looked into the real low budget places, and thats O.K. . All they really need is a place to shower , change their clothes, and sleep . Any input that you have to offer would be greatly appreciated PIA .......

Thanks, Liquorman

The Inn at Tamarind Court has basic accomodations right in Cruz Bay. There's also a restaurant right in the courtyard.
