There's 9 of us.....6 of us are already packed!! It's unbelievable to me since I'm the one that usually starts 2 weeks before.

One of us won't be snorkeling. "He" already informed us that because he has a big belly now, he just won't do it. Hopefully, somebody can convince him. I keep on telling him to just wear a t shirt because the sun is so badth ere anyway, but he's so stubborn that I believe he won't do it. He'll probably sit in the villa all day. This is a guy who was diagnosed 4 years ago with a cancerous brain tumor, but when they operated on him and biopsed it, it was bening. Go figure. Why people waste their lives away is beyond me.

Onto better things. We are renting Born to Rhumb for the day which should be so much fun for everybody except the grouch.

Going to try to get us all to as many snorkeling beaches as possible. Looking forward to seeing everybody happy and having a great time.

If anybody has any recommendations that havn't addressed on this board, please let me know.

Connie,
what the h*ll does having a big belly do with snorkeling?? Tell this guy to get over it. My hubby has a real big belly, and he didn't snorkel either, but not because of the belly heehee. He has asthma and claims he cannot get his air "fast enough" thru the snorkel tube (insert rolling eyes).

I wish I was headed back down! no that my trip is over, I am envious of all others who are getting ready to go 🙂

If I didn't do anything because of a big belly, I'd never get anything done! My belly may be big, but it never keeps me from doing the things I want to do; it goes with me wherever I go. I shudder to think how big it might be if I never did any kind of activity. Like snorkeling!

This June will be my first visit also, and I can tell you that I will be in the water everyday except arrival day and departure day. Can't wait!

Joe

I'm with IA Joe. I quit smoking 5-1/2 years ago and have packed the weight on. I lost it when I had to, such as when I trained for 8 months two years ago to backpack 80 miles in 10 days while carrying 50 lbs and climbing to 14,441 feet in New Mexico with my son at the Philmont Scout Ranch. And last year, backpacking in the Adirondacks in NY. I would have missed out on so much had I let my belly stop me and I'm not going to let it stop me the first week of June.

This will be our first trip to STT and I haven't snorkeled since I was a teenager in Taiwan back in the '70's (my Dad was in the AF.) We used to go snorkeling a lot at the southern tip of the island at a place called O Luanpi and I can't wait for my son and wife to experience it.

Connie,
I have been thinkin' of you, knowing your trip is very soon! Don't you worry about the big belly guy, you are right, he won't go in, that is his loss! My sister in law and brother came down 3 years ago, a once in a life time trip for them and my sister in law has these large patches on the back of her legs which she hides (I accidentaly saw it while she was here). She wore long skirts and pants the whole time she was here and when we went out on the boat (twice), she refused to go in and expose herself.....only to me and my honey! She never went in the water once! What a shame! Life is way too short for sure! I guess we are who we are and nothing we can do about it! I still love her!
Have fun, and don't you worry about a thing! 🙂

ps- Margyz arrives tomarrow, I can't wait to meet her at the airport!

Well...when I come back, I'll give everybody information on "Big Belly" :o) Maybe he'll see how much fun we're having and come in the water. That's what I'm hoping for. This should be interesting because he is so stubborn. By the way...he stopped smoking after he was lucky enough to walk away from brain surgery and that's what has packed the pounds on him...including no real activity other then sitting around.

Thanks all...

My friend's hubby that went with us this trip doesn't like water. He doesn't like to "get wet" !! (WTH??) anyhow, he finally got into the water the last day and his wife took the mask out to him and then he was totally AMAZED! I'm like "DUH!" Like the others said, life is just too short to let it go by without experiencing all you can. He'll be sorry one day.
