I had marked this beach as a good remote snorkeling spot, but in trying to find specific directions, came across several posts that indicate that this beach might not be safe. Any updates or comments from locals? If ok, what about directions? Thanks!

You can't get to Lindquist other than by boat. To get there by car or on foot you have to travel over private property and they have that fenced off. Sorry.

This if the first I have heard that you can't access this beach from the road. There is another post elsewhere with directions? Has the road been closed off recently?

Randolph,

The beach access has been closed for awhile, a little more than a year if I'm remembering correctly. There is a guard posted so the only access to the beach is, as Lucy noted, from the water. There have been efforts to obtain an easement but so far nothing has materialized.

Lindquist is a beautiful beach for sure and yes, considered not very safe. Someone had purchased the land with the road that leads to it and actually had to go to court trying to block access. From what I understand he had lost and the gate had been re-opened ONLY to discover that the gate is again closed off. I can understand why the owner does not want people on his property- a great liability. We have always discouraged tourists from going there for safety reasons. I am sure it doesn't get the activity that it used to, due to the road being blocked. I would discourage going there.
