We've charted Lion In Da Sun next month and we are very excited. I'm having a tough time trying to figure out where to go. My brother-in-law warned me that although The Baths are great, it gets very crowded. He suggested The Indians (not sure where that is). Any suggestions for a day out on Lion In DA Sun. I'm sure Lion In Da Sun will give us some great suggestions as well but wanted to reach out on the board for some recommendations. Thanks!

You could do the bath and Indains and the Caves all in the same day if you wanted to. But I like ending the day at soggy dollar. There is also sandy spit, cooper island for lunch. it is endless. I'd have a couple of suggestion for Matt but till him to take me to the best spots he will know what is best for that day.

I'm with waterguy. The Baths are a good 90 minute motor one-way and is less exciting than you might think. We like the Indians, Caves at Norman Island, lunch at Willy T, Sandy Spit, White Bay loop. Smugglers Cove, Taboo and Great Harbor/Foxys are good stops as well.

Cheers, RickG

Thanks Rick G and Caption John, I'm a little behind on my reading for our trip. Just can't seem to find the time. Only 4 weeks left to go. I can't wait. In your response, can you tell me if the places you mentioned (Sandy Spit, White Bay loop. Smugglers Cove, Taboo and Great Harbor/Foxys) are bars or snorkeling stops. I'm sure Josh will recommend a great itinerary for our day but don't mind getting other opinions. Thanks for your help. Also - if you have the time - any favorite restaurant suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

How fun! Please let me know how your trip with Lion In Da Sun goes and where you went. I have also hired them for a day trip for 6 of us and I want it to be a fun filled day of snorkeling, great lunch stop, sight seeing and drinking. I'm definately making the Soggy Dollar stop at the end of the day. Thanks8-)

Don't miss the Baths! They really are incredible. I worked on a boat that went there every day for 8 months and I never got sick of it. In fact, when I had family visit me I chartered Lion In Da Sun and went there. Josh is awesome! He'll show you a great time. The trip out there can be a little tedious if the water conditions are bad, but summertime usually provides a decent ride. After the baths I'd suggest Cooper Island for lunch and the Indians for snorkeling. The caves are kinda cool, especially considering the legend of the treasure, but there's way more to see in the way of fish and coral at the Indians. If there's time you gotta go to Soggy Dollar. There's usually a nice crowd of people and the painkillers are fantastic.

Thanks Becca. The only thing that scares me a little going to The Baths is the price of gas. When I charted Lion In Da Sun they roughly estimated that the gas could cost $200 depending of course where we want to go. Just trying to figure out the total cost for charter, gas and tip. I'm doing the charter regardless - It's a surprise for my husband. Just want to make sure I'm prepared for the total cost. Do you have any idea if the $200 for gas is a good estimate if we go to The Baths, Cooper Island, The Indians then Soggy Dollar????

At about $5 a gallon for marine fuel I would think $200 is low. Josh is good though and it certainly depends on where you go - also sea conditions, speed, engines- # and size, weight on board, and the throttle jockey.
