It's probably not the most widely photographed or painted island and I've little to offer in the way of a suggestion except to maybe call some of the local art galleries via www.viphonebook.com.

Hans, there was a girl on the beach at Sapphire that was selling prints of her paintings. Her and her mother live on a boat and they are both painters. You can commission them to paint anything down there. I bought a great mermaid painting (I'm into mermaids). If you would like her information I can give it to you and you can contact her. Her daughter said she paints anything.

Wow, what a swim!

Take a look at Tillett maps; they are hand screened maps from Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas. Read a little history on Jim Tillett and the silk screen maps. Here is a map they make of St. Thomas with Hans Lollick included and labeled: http://www.tillettgardens.com/gallery/stthomas.asp

Painting of Hans Lollick by Cyndee Poole who used to live on St. Thomas: http://www.tropicalarts.com/caribbean1.htm.

Contact some of the galleries and see if they have anything. You might try Mango Tango http://www.mangotango-art.com/ and Gallery St. Thomas http://www.gallerystthomas.com; both have an assortment of pieces by various artists. There are other galleries.

If you are looking for photo art; you might try Don Hebert. His wife is a wedding coordinator and they do weddings on Hans Lollick so it’s quite likely he has photos of Hans Lollick. You can see some of his stock photos on his site, http://www.donhebert.com/stock.html. Not sure if he does photo art but his contact info. is on the site so you can check with him.

Gary Felton does photo art. I’ve seen a few of his pieces including panoramic shots of neighboring islands; you can check with him at http://www.garyfelton.com/.

Good Luck.

That it was, and at night. Thanks for the info. Another question....Does anyone remember Corporal Bell....her stomping ground was the airport back in the early 90's....I am assuming that some of you live in STT and STJ, does anyone want to trade places?! LOL

When I took my wife in 2005 I heard she had moved back here to the states...up north I think! It's been almost 16 years since my swim and she was the one I ran into at the airport. She was one of those people that had a hand in making me who I am today.. hope she's doing well!!!

Hans.....here is the name of the artist and a phone number. I bought a mermaid painting off of her and it's really nice.

Her name is Shirley Stendahl-McLeod and her number is 203-216-7714 (cell)

Good luck!

Hans: too funny that Corporal Bell went stateside. She probably didn't have much choice after she pulled her piece on a 14 year old in Tutu Park Mall and was afterwards put on desk duty somewhere in the dungeonesque environs of Zone A downtown. Ah, Paulette Bell. I had such fun with her for several years. Tell you what, why don't you send me a PM and then we can exchange stories which probably aren't of any interest to the majority on this forum? Cheers!

OMG!!!! Corporal Bell! Boy, does that name bring back memories! lol! I used to play " Officer Bell" with my children when they were little....... I know, that was bad, but we had so much fun! She also pulled a gun at the insurance company as the co. wouldn't pay her nieces damages for something....got that directly from the person she pulled the gun on!!!! Oh my! We could do a thread on her alone, I am sure, but as STT said, might be something to keep in PM's instead! lol!

Another suggestion for someone to do a water color of Hans is Marynell Spandenberg, she and her hubby are frequent visitors to STT and one of our villa's. She did a beautiful painting of Inner and Outer Brass for me as a gift, I love it! Her honey plays on the forum occasionally. If you are interested PM me and will give you her contact information!
