Last time we were in St. John (approx 2 years ago), we rented from O'Connor at the Westin because a) we were staying there and b) they had a lot in town that we could use. I was just informed that they no longer have a lot in town that you can use.

Is this the case with all the rental car companies or do some still allow for in town parking? If there are some that still allow in town parking, I would love to hear those recs.

Thanks,

Craig

We used O'Connor back in Feb of 08, and were told the same thing.
They still had a small location up about a half of block right passed Dolphin Market on the other side of the road (the Texaco is becoming a traffic circle)

They were very nice and said we could park in their slots after working hours, but there was only 2 or maybe 3 spaces. We never had to because we always found spots - just lucky I guess because we were in a Durango.

We are returning in April and will be using O'Connor again because we need a big vehicle again and they were great last time (even when I locked the keys in the vehicle at Maho - I am $40s smarter now)

If you only require a 4 pax vehicle try Best Car Rental (340-693-8177). Roosevelt is a real nice guy and has parking available
He does not deal in 6 Pax cars anymore.

Conrad Sutton is a small car rental place in Cruz Bay, you can park in their lot for free while you're downtown. We rent from him every spring. A couple of short blocks from the ferry. www.conradcars.com

So, who is this O'Conner and how can I get in touch with him to check prices? I have reserved a 6 pax vehicle from the airport because I found a really good deal, but if parking is going to be a problem then we may consider a higher price for parking convenience.

O'Connor's website is www.oconnorcarrental.com/ We have a Jeep Laredo reserved from them which we decided to stick with even though they have a limited, at best, parking situation in town. But, from what I've seen, other Companies that do have parking in town have Dodge Durangos that hold up to 7 ppl. Conrad Sutton seems to be one of those Companies. www.conradcars.com. I believe their are others such as courtesy and c & c as well.

Considering the convenience of picking/dropping off the car at the Westin for us, as well as having the Laredo which fits our needs best, I'm ok with paying for parking in town, if it becomes a problem.
