Does anyone have magic jack in STT?

I can find a number to call and was wondering if you could call the main land at no charge?

I looked into Vontage and they do nor serve STT I beleive.

Hey billd --

Bombi (from the relo board) uses magic jack on STX. Apparently there are no 340 area codes available -- though more area codes are supposed to be available in the near future -- and all out going calls, including long distance, are included in the $19.95annual fee. If you PM Bombi with some questions I'm sure you can find out more details.

Bill,

My one tenant in Florida just told us about it. She has her friends and family all through the Caribbean and UK using it. She swears by it.

If all your key peopled have it, then can be used so she says.

I only wish that they had a 340 area code. I would drop innovative in a heart beat!

Yeah, if you don't receive a lot of local calls, or if the local folks who call you use cell phones, then the area code doesn't matter, but there are locals who use land lines and won't call outside the (340) area code because of the exorbitant toll charges.

I went on line with their chat system and they said they were working getting a 340 area code. . But that is a line of bull. If you look at the area codes they have they are the major ones on the main land. There are more populated areas that don't have area codes than the s120,000 we have in the VI. Even Puerto Rico is not there yet. So you right dntw8p, there is probably no much hope. So we will stick with using our cell phone after 7PM and week ends and pay Innovate (this still hurts)!

I have used Magic Jack to make calls from the islands to my stateside friends. I also use Skype which at times works better.

Bill:

I have a Yahoo phone account that I use when sailing (marina wifi) and outside the U.S. where Internet/wifi is available.

If you have a good Internet connection try Yahoo.......cost is $0.01 per minute. I'm very satisfied with it.
