We are going to stay at Maho campground in May, and when booking the reservation it said to request 3 sights we would want . Could anyone help us with this? Not sure what our options are, and have checked this message board for threads to help but didn't come up with too much. And I couldn't find a layout of the campground online.
There will be four of us, my husband and myself with our 2 kids, ages 7 and 4. I know that some of the sights are higher than others and there could be alot of climbing involved, and we didn't want to make it too hard on the kids, but still want to be high enough to get the nice breezes at night. Smething with a water view would be a bonus too!
Thanks for any and all advise, this message board has been so helpful in planning our trips. My husband and I jsut got back from our first trip there and obviously we can't to get back and show our kids this little piece of heaven...

Have stayed at the ones on the point, high up, great breeze, no bugs, however the donkeys did visit during the night which about put my wife out the door and back home.

After the first night we got use to them braying during the night.

There are some steps......

Are there sight numbers that you are aware of? I was hoping that someone who has stayed there before may have remembered what the deal is with picking, or requesting, where to camp.

Kirch,

Yes there are site numbers, I went back in hopes I still had site map from when we stayed there, I do not.

I would suggest you either call or email them and ask for a map of the grounds. I know that every site is numbered I just can not remember what ours was.

The nice thing about the sites on the point is that you can walk right over to Maho Bay.

Can't say how it now, but the snorkeling was really good around the point. Hope you enjoy, will tell you that alongwith the donkeys at night, my wife was biten by a scorpian while we stayed there.

She was fine once the ranger told her they were not poison......

Hello, My husband and I stayed up in the Harmony studios and made note of the nicer screen house locations on our daily walk to meals. There are a lot of stairs. I think that you will find it easier on the kids than the adults, just make sure they do not run after rain or even when the stairs are slightly wet. As far as sights go... do not take e3,34,35,e6, e7.. yes they are close to the bathhouse, but also way to close to the kitchen refrigeration compressors!!! We liked anything out in the a,or c range a1-a19 is out on a point over the beach and might catch a breeze. The c's are quite close to the goat path that leads to Big Maho Bay beach, short easy hike to another great beach. Have a great time!!!!

I was an employee there in 1998-1999 I think that the post suggesting A1-A19, and the C area was good. personally i was never a fan of the B section, so on my aplication for our next visit i put no b section under special requests.
