The Get-Together is scheduled for March 6, at Fungi's Restaurant, Point Pleasant Resort, East End, STT at 6:00 P.M. until the last person leaves. I've already reserved space there.

This is an informal get together for people from the board to meet and have dinner or just a drink together. We exchange ideas and experiences. I've been to 3 of them so far and have always had a good time. Last October STT Resident hosted a get together at the Toad & Tart...we must of had 40 people there..."great job Anna".

So far we have:

Mr & Mrs F.I. (2)
Mr & Mrs Crickett (2)
Cariblvr (4)
Freespirit + 5 (6)
Lady Blue (2)
Leewee (2)
Drydocked (2)
Manta (1?)

Any others?

How about you locals?????? Islander, Ronnie, Anna, East Ender, etc.

Please let me know if you're planning to attend so I can give a "head count" to Fungi's.

F.I.

All:

The Get Togeher is still open to other VINOW participants. You don't need to post a message...just show up. We're expecting about 20 people now....we've reserved space.

This will be my 4th get together in less than 2 years....we meet to exchange information and experiences about the islands...also to just have a good time.

March 6 - Monday
6:00 P.M. until they close.......
Fungi's, Point Pleasant Resort, Smith Bay Road
Just look for the big Point Pleasant & Fungi's sign. At the guard shack just tell them you're going to Fungi's.
Drinks & Dinner (if you want). Prices are very reasonable.

How about all of you locals....we like getting good island information from you.

Hope to see you there.

Yes, we had a great time time! From what we can remember anyway 🙂
Thanks for the ride back to our condo Future Islander, George and I were feeling no pain that night! Had a few more drinks at our condo before we passed out! Didn't wake up till 10am the next morning.

We loved STT sooo much that we are thinking of returning for a another week in July! I'll try to put together a short write up of our trip soon.

Hoping to return in July!

Lady Blue & George:

I was beginning to worry about you two.....I thought you decided to give it all up in WA and stay in STT. Now that's a thought. George & I can open an engineering firm. Haven't decided what we'll build, but I'll think of something.

We're definately going back next January & February....thinking about this Memorial Day week too.

Regards,

F.I.

Jeff:

I'm a PE, also.

George and I are both in the high tech engineering field....the engineering firm comment was just an off the cuff comment....but who knows????

I'm not really into CE.

However, other board members might be interested in your PLS services on-island.

we're in the process of opening an office on stt ... paperwork, sponsers, etc drag it out, but it is hard to survey on stt from nc too ..... we bought a condo there last year, and have been slowly getting ready to move - pre move visit in june / july !!!!!!! ... so if anyone needs a survey - contact me - thanks for all the helpful info .... ps - ronnies new truck rocks

Jeff:

Huhh.....you bought a condo already and are planning your PMV in June/July? Isn't that a little bit "backwards"?

Do you need to get your PLS license in the VI or will your mainland license be recognized? If so, does the same hold true for a PE?

well ... it may seem backward, but we're renting the condo (investment) which has worked out great ... have a 10th grader and 5th grader, so we're thinking the younger guy may go to high school there (its really his pre-move visit), if not, we'll move when he is done high school .... as for pe/pls license - yes you have to apply in usvi - if you are a "resident" you do not need a sponser ... if you're a non-resident, you need to have a pe/pls sign for you on the application ... pe is by comity, pls needs to take a 4 hr test - i plan on testing in october (good reason for another visit)

I understand...I've sponsored quite a few people here in NJ.

We almost bought at Sea Cliffs (your neighbor), but glad we found Point Pleasant. Since we won't be living there year round we prefer the "resort" atmosphere it offers.

We're from the Jersey Shore.

What college?

the only thing w/ watergate - much too close to iggies ... it seems that first night on the island we always try to drain the island of libations (impossible? - we think not) - then regret it (well, not really) ... college - The Ohio State University ... how 'bout you?
