Is Mothers Day celebrated on STT? If so, are the resturants more crowded that Sunday?

Hello Mary,

Yes its celebrated. Flowers, cards, gifts are the norm.

There will be more folks then usual out having dinner Saturday night, Sunday lunch and Sunday buffets at resorts. Beach parties are also popular. On St. Thomas the popular beaches for residents on Sundays are Magens Bay, Coki Beach, Vessup, Brewers Bay and Lindquist.

Thanks Islander. I will definitely make reservations for dinner that Sunday before we arrive on the island.

Hello Mary,

Some restaurants aren't open on Sundays at all. And some are open for lunch but not dinner. Thats why I mentioned that Saturday night might have more people then usual and then Sunday lunch and buffets... rather then Sunday dinner.

So my suggestion would be to make Saturday dinner reservations a few days in advance and also to call around to see if any of the restaurants you were interested in are actually open Sunday night and make reservations.

Mother's Day at least on STT is a BIG deal! We were there on Mother's Day last year and I don't think I've ever seen a place with more families strolling together with the mom's decked out in corsage/bouquets/etc. Flowers being sold on every street corner. It was a beautiful sight! STT really demonstrates their appreciation for Moms.
