Moving to St Croix in October

Good day st cruzians,

I am recently retired and I am moving fron the states to St Croix on October 1. Have a million things to do. What do I need to watch out for in particular. I have vacationed twice on the island the last time was 2006. I am familiar with the island from a tourist perspective but would like some help from locals regarding what I can expect. Thanks
