Hello to all...hope everyone and families are well.

I am in late 50's single male who is sick of Pennsylvania winters. Having been to St.Thomas only once for a short time..i fell in love with the island and people. Now i find myself seriously contemplating moving there. My question is: On an income of about $2500-$2800 per month net income can 1 person find a decent efficiency or studio apartment and get by pretty well on that income?? i would bring my vehicle, i do not need cable t.v.,and live a pretty no frills kind of lifestyle.

Thanks and take care all.

Skillet54, good afternoon! Your post was submitted on the "Vacation" message board. Look at the top of the screen on the right and you will see the "Relocation" message board. Local residents monitor that board and address relocation-specific questions such as yours. Good luck!

I'm curious as to what responses you'll get. Substitute "female" for "male" and have visited St. Thomas more than once, and that's me! Going to check out rentals/real estate when I'm there visiting again next month.

Best wishes on your journey!

Hello> Hope you are doing well.

I am moving to STT full-time in May 2013 and have been planning to do so for years now. I feel you will be ok money wise. You do need to make a few visits to STT before you decide to move full-time. Please visit all seasons if you can, however if not, please make a visit during the summer. It is totally different from high season. Not only is the weather different but the overall feel of the island is different as well. There is not a better place to live that I can think of as long as you are prepared for STT.

Good Luck. Ask all the questions you can think of!

Mary Carol
