I am a former resident of STT and visiting St John with some friends from Thanksgiving day through the following Tuesday. I am looking for rent a Jeep/Topless Beater from a local (rental companies don't allow to jump back and forth on ferry) for a few days. Will pay cash plus deposit. Price negotiable. I am responsible, carry my own insurance on-island, and know the roads after 7 years of accident-free driving in the VI. Why don't you just rent on STT and then you can go back and forth. With the exception of Hertz, STT agencies allow their cars over to STJ but no STJ agencies allow their cars to be taken to STT. Frankly, even if your tongue came notarized, I don't think there's much hope that any private owner will rent you their vehicle as the liability is too great. But good luck and enjoy your stay!
Contact Leah at [email protected] she has nice Jeeps and you are more than welcome to bring them over to St John on the car ferry. They bring the Jeep to you at the airport so don't have to wait in line or anything. Just sign and drive.
Majority of my vacation guests use either budget or dependable car rental. Both allow their cars on barges to stj.
