We were in St. John last week. At "High Tide" bar was a great live band with a phenomenal female singer. Does anyone know their name? Also, saw a great live band at "The Balcony", with another great female singer. Does anyone know their name? We are going back next month and want to see both again. thanks.

I suspect both of these locations have websites, email them and ask.

If you find out their names, please post that info.

We will be on St. John during the last week in April & are looking for great live entertainment, as well!

Thank You!

Already planning on Wednesday nite with Inner Visions. According to the schedule, looks like that will be the nite to catch them there!

Do you know what time they usually start playing - and for how long?

Thanx!

Sue,

That is a great question, and I am not sure if there is an answer. My experience with island music and the bands that play it are that there is no set start time.

The members of the band just seem to appear one at a time and start playing with the others when they get there.

Inner Visions the last time I saw them was the same way, it is just part of island time. They play until they stop and there is no certain time.

Last year on the island of Anguilla we were listening to a local band that we have enjoyed for many a year there, they started at 10:30pm, well that is when the first member got there and they played non-stop until 3am. Different members would come and go but the band just kepted playing.

My experience with local bands on STJ is very similar, and Fred's is one layed back location.

I guess we usually show up at Fred's around 9 and the band is playing. We never stay up late on STJ. I'd guess we leave by 11:30 or so and the band is still playing. Their website says 8-12.

Inner Visions tours a lot on the mainland and also plays places like the Westin and the Ritz in the VI, so they tend to keep to a schedule. This is not like Jam Band at the Sputnik bar.
