I found a studio to rent for our upcoming trip. The studio is small (440 st foot - hotel room basically) but it is in a great location. Close to red hook and the beach. However, my husband thinks this will be too small. We are not going to spend alot of time there and we got a great deal, so I think we should go ahead and reserve it.
Can anyone tell me if they have stayed in these studio type condos and what your experience was as far as having enough room?

Thanks,
Amy

I'm not sure how long that you will be staying, but it looks fine to me. We've stayed at Sapphire in January while we were getting our electric and plumbing running in our condo. It was just my husband and I and we found the units to be large enough for the two of us. You have a small kitchen and a living room in addition to the sleeping area. Don't forget the Sunday beach party.

I'm not sure of the exact hours of the beach party, I think that it is around 2:00 to 6:00. Very busy with islanders and continentals alike. They will likely have one of the local steel or reggae bands playing, always great island music. Very festive atmosphere with a lot of happy people enjoying a Sunday afternoon. It does get crowded and loud but very fun. I love to watch all of the local children dancing to the beat. Their is nothing cuter than a little 2 year old really getting into the music. We were there last month and had a great time, my only suggestion is that they have local vendors on the beach grilling up island favorites. They do serve food, but you have to wait to get a table to eat. Multiple bars set up for drinks so no worries in that department. Have fun!

I just want to comment that the studio is at Sapphire Village. It is not right on a beach, but is very handy to Sapphire Marina if you wnat to do any day trips. Also, there is a restaurant on the property- Grapevine Grille, that will probably be your hangout. Stick with the apps, salads and soups as the regular menu is pretty expensive. But the place is very close to Red Hook, as noted.

As I have never been to St. Thomas before, I am unsure of the length of Sapphire Beach. We are staying there in a condo - the Marina is at the back of us - will we be close to the beach party? I don't want to miss it!!

Hi, just last month we were in the end unit with the red roof, facing the u end of the harbor , so I don't know if your units are actually Sapphire beach but they looked very nice. We trekked up the hill to look at the restaurant, I agree very pricey Nice pool and what looked like a seperate laundry, the whole area was very clean.
You need to walk around the harbor to get to the other pool and the beach. We did a day snorkel sail with New Horizons and they are right there so all you have to do is stagger home! It was a lot of fun, good food drink and company, even my 6 yr old granddaughter got into the snorkling ":in deep water"

We were originally to be at Crystal Cove, but when we arrived, no one was there so we went to the Sapphire Beach lobby and Surprise! you are staying with us! Newly renovated condo, 2 stories, 2 bathrooms, new furnishings! And a free breakfast! WHAT? So he drove us to the unit to see it before we lugged our baggage up THREE flights of stairs and another flight to the bedroom area. With the help of my daughter, grandkids and a hefty tip for him we managed. It is building F 310 and was perfect, after hearing so many negative comments about this resort I was apprehensive.. Altho for 3 cheeseburgers with chips, one salad with chicken and 3 bushwackers we thought $80 was a bit much, and that was before tip. That was at the pool bar, there is another restaurant outside the lobby, a convenience store with a good selection and a dive shop with rentals for all the cruise ship passengers that go there now, hence the $12 burgers.

I will have to do more of a report , we didn't get in nearly everything we had planned so I guess we will have to keep coming back . We would definately stay at Sapphire Beach again, I think a studio will be perfect for two, just not on the 3rd floor! Have you ever looked at VRBO.com , they have some nice units on there, closer to the beach. Have fun...Donna

I didn't use spell check as last time I lost the whole e-mail

Also check out http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/caribbean you should be able to find a unit right on the beach for about the same price.

My husband and I live in a 300sq ft studio in NYC.
You will have no problems staying in a studio that is 400sq ft.
Have fun!
