I want to thank you all my new friends for your helpful response. Thank you for your personnel advise and great tips. Just to keep me in the know:
1) I am going to rent a car (I will try both rentals)
2) I am going to pack a collapsible cooler.
3) I decided on Big Blue for full day at sea
4) I do believe nothing good happens after midnight so reassure we will be in.
5) I hate I will not be in VI on Sunday evening for Jazz. Maybe I should send kids all home and I stay extra night.

Now just a little more help, What night to go to Latitude18 for dinner and do I need reservation? Sat. Thur. or Wednesday night?
What about "Off the Hook" for dinner?
Where do I find Mongoose Junction for shopping?

TomB, this may be stupid question but what is JVD that the 23 year olds will love?

Thanks ya'll,

Barbie

Jost Van Dyke (JVD) is a very special place.

This island in the BVI truly has the best beach bars in the world. (and I have looked for them)

Foxy's being the original. and then there was a young lady named Gertrude that had a place on White Bay which was an honor bar (early 80s) and that was it.

Today JVD is a rolling party, and has some of the bluest water you will ever see.

If we could get the world leaders to spend a half a day in JVD we could have world peace.

Off the Hook is closed.

The 23 year olds and those of other ages will like JVD.

Mongoose Junction is on St John.

IMHO, many people plan too much. Pick a place and a couple of activities and let the days determine other things you do. I know people who come here and hardly move from one beach. They say at the end of the stay, "Next time..."

Well Put!

Have a cocktail as the sunset sets and say tomorrow we are going to....

Then look forward to the next sunset

You don't need a reservation for Latitude - the musical offerings vary during the week but the "given" is Tuesday's open mic night which is often the scene of some really good talent. The weekly Island Trader, a free publication, is a good source for finding out what's going on around the island. It comes out every Thursday, is readily available all over the island and can also be accessed online via a link on www.virginislandsdailynews.com. Cheers!

I agree,

I am 22 years old and White bay on Jost Van Dyke is probably my favorite place in the world. I have been there 4 times and have had a great time every time. White bay is on Travel Channel as one of the Top 10 Caribbean beaches. You will not be disappointed. Foxy's is awesome and is in Great Harbor. Make sure you dont miss the Soggy Dollar Bar, or My personal favorite, Ivan's (honor bar). Both are located on White Bay. Thursday nights Ivan's has a BBQ on the beach with live music (most of the time), which is a blast. The food is really good too. Enjoy your vacation.

Well I'm 43 and Jost is one of my favorite places. There's something about White Bay that just makes you smile. 🙂

Thank you for your advice. I am looking forward to a great trip and will make a point of it, to go to White Bay. It sounds like heaven. I made my boating reservations yesterday for a full day at sea.

Thanks,

Barbie

Hi Barbie,
Where is the Jazz on Sunday night that you mentioned? We are going to STT in a couple more days (Friday) and can't wait! My daughter is getting married on Magen's Bay! The jazz sounds great, please let me know when and where?

Thank you,
Nancy

Enjoy!!

Wake up early.....go out on whatever deck or balcony you have....early!! Greet the VI sunrise at least once. You won't regret it!
