Hello everyone,

I am new to the board, but I have been reading a lot of your tips and they have been very helpful for me. I am planning to go to the Virgin Island in November. I haven't really done anything official yet like book flights/hotel. I am, like many of you, trying to find a good deal before I pounce on anything. Anyways. I had a question about night time activities. I know that many of you have warned other people several time about being out late and alone at night on St. Thomas, but I really thought it would be nice to star gaze with my hubby on the beach at St. John. (I saw on the St. John national park website that they used to have rangers and groups at the Cinnamon Bay amphitheater star gazing at night, but they stopped that or something.) I guess I'm just wondering if there are activities to do at night other than going to a bar (maybe night snorkeling excursion groups or something-although that's sounds maybe a little scary) and whether it's safer at St. John than St. Thomas. I don't really want to have to hide in my room after dark.

Thanks,

Fuchannini

Fuchannini,
Go to the most recent Crime thread, kinda hate to start that all over again! There is a night time snorkel adventure done by Homer in Hull Bay on the Northside! People seem to enjoy it and I have seen the people out there with their little green lights so as to see the location of each person! I think it sounds like fun! I am more partial to STT as I live here, but you can't go wrong on either island! 🙂

Fuchannini,

Below are three websites you can take a look at for ideas of things to do at night on St. Thomas. We can tell you the Sunset Party at Paradise Point is a must do, we've seen some spectacular sunsets.

We've been to St. Thomas 8 times and have never felt we were not safe, just use "Common Sense". Which ever resort your staying at on St. Thomas, you'll be able to stroll up and down the beach gazing at the stars. So you won't have to "hide" in your room after dark.
