Hi,

I'm taking my niece on a trip and thought about St Thomas/St John. The only slot in her college schedule is mid October but I noticed the rain % is pretty high. Has anyone been around that time? I know anything could happen but looking for the norm.

We are both pretty active, so any great things to do,,,, both land and sea would be appreciated. I have only been for one day during a cruise and really enjoyed the islands.

Thx
D

My mom's birthday is in Oct and dad takes her to Tortola for her birthday every year. She's a sun/beach fan andthey always come back with dark tans. If the rain was a problem, I suspect they wouldn't go at that time. I have not visited in October, but they seem to love it.

Anecdotally, I don't think rain will be an issue.

we were on stj 2nd week oct 04, couple of short showers was all the rain we had. went same week of 05 had 2.5 days od rain. had great time both years. oct is wetter than many months but its off season. only real risk is tropical storm/hurricane which are seldom but oct is the part of season.

i must add, we are last minute travelers and have the option of not going if the forecast is for real storms (as compared to rain). if you waited for clear days to show on weather.com, you'd never go.
