I am going back down mid November, I would like to know what the weather will be like? I know when I leave Northern Virginia it will be on the cool side more like getting to the beginning of feeling like winter 🙂 I know I will be wearing layers but what do I expect when I get there? Thanks !

Barb: Did you check the top right corner of this page under "weather?" Lots of info about current and historical weather. November is the rainest month of the year, BTW... You can leave your woolies at home!

I do this all the time just forgot, it was early when I post & just wanted an insider view. Yes I know it is rainy month but when we were there in June it rain 4 days out of the 6 we were there & off & on all day & heavy at all times. I went last November & it wasn't too bad. I wasn't worried about longjohns just when I get back home lol. Might be snow on the ground been known to happen here in Virginia. Thanks I will check when it gets closer to the date.

Hello Barb,

We pretty much never wear layers; in fact most of the year we are trying to wear very light clothing because it’s hot, hot, hot.

While 'winter' months get a bit cooler, your still only looking at say 76 degrees at night. Bbbbrrrrrr. 😀 (That might feel chilly, so a very light sweater or a long sleeve shirt might be needed at night if you are eating out at open air restaurants.) During the day you have temps. in the 80's.

Check out the weather link at the top of this page for monthly stats.

Since you will be returning to the states and it might be cold/snowing, you could pack a jacket to have when you get out of the airport back home. You won’t need it here in the VI though.

Enjoy!

Lol Islander
It would be rather on the strange side to see the weather drop down in the 30's. I will have my husband bring me a coat when I get back home when he picks me up. Hooray !! Another solo trip ! Hope it won't be the last. I keep checking back on the weather as it is a bit too soon to do it now. I was there last year but the first week in November & it wasn't too bad. Thanks !

I wouldn't depend on the weather forecast - believe it or not, they've been WRONG sometimes!. I'd come prepared for rain regardless of the forecast. We've had more rain than usual this year, so I would definitely consider bringing some very lightweight raingear (small umbrella or light rain jacket). That way, if it rains for an hour or so, you'll be protected. As they say here, "better to have and not need than need and not have."
