Hi Everyone!
I'm a first timer visitor to USVI and I can't wait!!!:) But does anyone or has anyone rented a car for ONE day only on
St John after you arrive from STT on the passenger ferry? I called L & L Jeep rental , they said no ... 3 day minimum also someone told me to just "walk up" after you arrive there and get a car rental that way...But....
I'm going to be on St John on Memorial Day Weekend??!!! So I bet it will be very busy... Can anyone help or advise?
Has anyone done the "walkup" car rental and who did you rent with? THANKS AGAIN!!!! You guy's are all so great!
Love this forum!!!!
Counting the days .......

Last year we were staying on Tortola but took the ferry over to STJ for the day. We had to go to 3 different agencyies but finally found a Jeep Liberty at Conrad Suttons. All you can do is start making the rounds and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck!

Thanks Diana for the car rental info! I was afraid of exactly what you had said that we would be "searching" for a car after we get off the ferry and can't find one! :O There will be four of us and a taxi to all the places we'd love to see
would be I think too costly and inconvenient ... Hopefully "Conrad" will have a car for us! 🙂 If not , it's a long walk around the island :O ha! Hopefully we could get a jeep, but as long as it runs and has 4 wheels I'm good with
that!!!!
Thanks again!
Can't wait to go! This is our first trip to the USVI and we haven't had a vacation in almost 7 years so we are ready!!!
If you have any other advise or recommendations I would be forever grateful! It's always good to talk to those who
have been there and experienced it!
Thanks Diana!
Have a great weekend!
Kindest regards,
Barb

I called Denzil Clyne and they said they would rent to us for 1 day... but we're going in the off-season.

If you are going on Memorial day weekend and want a rental for one day......... You have a better chance of winning to lottery. 🙁

BUT WAIT! All may not be lost. Check out www.varlack-ventures.com they have a half day tour of the island. Give them a call asap and see if you can get on it. HAVE FUN!

Hi Leslie,

Sorry... just read your question!

There isn't a website for Denzil Clyne, but I've pasted their phone number, along with a list of St. John car rental agencies below. I received the recommendation to call Denzil Clyne from several posters on www.fodors.com.

I was told they have a convenient parking lot that their renters can use while on St. John.

I live on stt and have walked up many times. but since you are gonna be here a busy weekend instead of walking up just call when you arrive on st thomas and try to reserve one. there are two places I suggest one is conrad sutton have walked up several times. the other I can't remember the name but if you get off the ferry walk past connections and take the left after that it is a little yellow building next to the florest. also a smoothy booth in front of it. I have had luck there several times. good luck
