Does anyone have a recommendation for a daysail or charter for 6 from St. Thomas to St. Croix, for the purpose of spending most of the day on St. Croix?

To the best of my knowledge there are none. There is an on-again off-again ferry running between the two islands (you can find the info under the link to ferry schedules on Quick Links top right this page) which is locally known as either "The Vomit Comet" or "The Barf Barge", otherwise the way to go is by air. You probably don't realize the considerable distance between the two islands which, along with the big stretch of deep open water which is very often very turbulent, doesn't make for an easy crossing.

The ferry service between St Thomas and St Croix may be more "off-again". Read the information on this link: http://www.vimovingcenter.com/talk/read.php?4,161693
