My reports are getting long in the tooth….

Monday, we went to Sapphire Beach and pool. Kind of lazed around all day and did nothing. Went to Burrito bay for lunch, and used our Rotary coupons. Mmmm – good food! They scallops wrapped in bacon and gave us a big container for just $3 – enough to feed 4 of us. Couple that with some jerk chicken and we were happy. LLBL and I had plans to get the kids together at the Marriott pool that evening, and we planned on toasting the departing cruise ships at the bon voyage cocktail hour. Well, apparently, that is either no more or does not happen in off season, ‘cus there was no party. We’d brought our bottle of leftover painkillers from the BVI day (First mate Stephanie sent everyone off with a bottle of the leftovers).

LLBL brought a bottle of wine down for us to share. The pool bar was closed – it closes so early! It wasn’t yet 6pm. We talked and drank while the kids swam in the pool. We all decided to head to Indigo for dinner so the kids could continue to swim while the parents relaxed. Worked perfectly. We had a great meal at Indigo and the kids had their own table and swam in the pool. We ordered Mango Mojitos that night – yummm!

A great day with our new friends. The kids were just having the best time together, which made us parents very happy and we were able to enjoy ourselves.

Another great day!

Tuesday – we awoke feeling lazy and everyone kind of bummed around the house for a while. It was very late in the morning when we decided to go to Mountaintop, check out the view, buy souvenirs, and have a famous banana daiquiri. On the way, we had fun pulling over and picking up mangos from the roadside…sooooo many everywhere – and really, really good and juicy. We must have had 20 mangos in the van when we pulled up to mountaintop.

Nobody gout out right away because we were enjoying our mangos so much.

Eventually, we went in and poked around for a little more than an hour. Geoff met an artists and talked about his photos and family history on STT. The bartender was kind enough to give us a little banana with our large cups of rum -- wooooooo -this was no tourist trap daiquiri...unless they want us drunk so we'll spend more money. Wow!

Sherri and I caught up on the phone and she invited us all over for an afternoon snack and some cocktails with her and Jeff at Rockworks. We went right over, but passed her road and wound up down at the bottom of her hill...at Dorothea Bay....what a beautiful place!! Down there, we found a little girl with a horse....a beautiful beach, a small residential community and more MANGOS on the roadside. We replenished our stock.

Back up and went to Sherri and Jeff's. Sherri had a lovely tray of cheeses and crackers....rum and cokes...and then she and Jeff picked some fresh pineapple and papaya from their grounds as we all walked around....and Jeff whipped up fresh fruit smoothies in the blender. The girls were invited into the hot tub, which they enjoyed - the Rockworks pool was getting a new paint-job, so that was off limits. We walked over and got to go inside the famous shack (Rockworks is a popular and luxurious rental villa owned and cared for by Jeff and Sherri - and Jeff and Sherri live in a smaller home in the distance - affectionately known as "the shack"!! Sooooo cute! We also saw all of the progress they've made with their construction site for the new home - it's all clear and ready to go....now that they've drilled all the rock out! We had a great afternoon with them!! Thank you Jeff and Sherri for all of your hospitality.

We left them and went back to the villa for our planned night of grilling on the gallery. We had burgers and chicken all set to go. Yummm! Again, early to bed. Next day is Festival on St John!!!!

Hey Coden......missed chatting with you! Thanks for the well wishes and hope your son is doing well with his geology!Glad the visit to Philly went well - my cell phone was quiet, so I assume he was fine while here.

When are you due back in the VI?

Hey there, Blu!!! My son is doing great, thank you for asking, he graduates from college this coming December. Woo-hoo!!! Party Time!!! He just spent 37 days on the island of Sardinia, Italy this summer doing a study abroad. It was awesome and he is so thankful that he was able to do it. Thanks again for all of your help in helping us locate a hotel for him in Philly last year. This years conference is in Denver, and he actually has a friend who lives there, so he is going to stay with her. Saves me lots of dough!! 🙂

My next trip back to STJ will probably be fall 2008. I would like to go sooner than that, but not knowing where "boy wonder" is going to go to Grad School at or move to in general, we can't make any plans for sooner than that as we'll have to move him somewhere. He hasn't made up his mind yet, so we are in limbo for now. And you know that the parents are always the last to know. Ha!!

I've loved reading your reports and seeing you all having so much fun and I am so thrilled for you. All of you seem so happy and I wish you many, many years of family bliss!! (((HUGS)))

Yes, it is amazing, Gari Ann in TX. It is fascinating to see how much renovation goes on between guest visits and the constant work on those villas - both Rockworks and their other rental, The Stone Cottage.

Just got back and am looking back to ck out your reports! Was fun having you over to visit, just wish RW's pool was up and running when you were here! Just saw it today, looks great! We didn't think we were going to like the white pool paint, but it still looks blue (reflection of the tile)!

The girls discovered Coconuts while visiting us, they had about 20 of them loaded in the car when they left! lol! What a riot!!! Did you ever get into any of them? lol!
Off to ck out more on your trip!

ps- had a great trip up home! Visiting family and shopping till my legs hurt! lol!
