Can I buy a cheap phone in St Thomas for use there? My Verizon phone will be $1.99/minute and $125/month for data.

you can buy a track phone with pre paid minutes. also look in to Centineal.

Just FYI, I have AT&T with nationwide coverage and I had full service on St John and St Thomas. It was great staying in touch with family but, turn it off and enjoy.....(ô¿ô)
