I have read some postings and hopefully can get the same kind of help for all of you very nice people. My name is Dan and I am hoping to move to St. Thomas within the next 3 months. I am coming down to the island in the first week in july for a 3 day "all business" trip. I am currently a general manager of a restaurant in the suburbs of NYC. I have a 4 year degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management and was hoping to continue my career on St. Thomas. Are there many management positions in the tourism industry down there? Or will I have to start out at the bottom again?

I am looking for a apartment to rent. I don't want to spend more then 1,200 a month for rent. Do you have any suggestions on where I should look? I am coming to the island with my girlfriend (a graphic designer who also has some restaurant experience) and a small to mid sized dog. Is it much harder to find a place that will let me keep my dog?

If anyone could steer me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

Check out the Relocation forum link above, gret forum with a ton of info and helpful people. This is the travel forum and while we all wish you the best of luck, most tourists won't be much help 🙂
