My girlfriend and I have never been to the Virgin Islands. I have been searching all over the place to find the perfect villa for us on St. John. It is just the two of us unless we can talk another couple to come with us. Obviously when it comes to the villa, it is all about the view for us. I have searched through out the topics on here and cannot find a place that calls out to me. We will be travelling in the off-season and wish to spend in the $1200 to $1900 per week range. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Luke,
Check out coralbayvacations.com look at the Astral Ridge Villa. My husband and I were there this past February for a week. We were married on Cinnamon Bay and spent the rest of the week enjoying the entire island of St. John. The best thing about our vacation (beside being married) was the amazing villa. It is out of this world. The owners didn't miss a thing in decorating and filling the villa with needed things right down to wine bottle openers, coffee makers, microwave, cd player, your own pool and hot tub, 2 outdoor showers and to top it all off it was the most private tranquil amazing place we've ever been to. We loved it so much we are going back this upcoming Feb. Check out the site. You won't regret renting there if you can get in.

If you are adventurous, don't need to be in the thick of things and like four-wheel driving, try Sago Cottage:
http://www.calabashcottages.com/sago.htm

It's a small cottage with the best views and right in your price range! But, it's in Coral Bay (which is sort of off the beaten path) and you NEED a FWD vehicle to get to it. Oh, and you should probably like cats as there is a group of feral ones that you have to feed.

Hubby and I loved it!

It's awesome someone else mentioned this place as well as it's the same owners of the place I mentioned Astral Ridge.....you can't go wrong at either place.....The owners/staff are top notch and their places are amazing.!

I suggest that you contact a couple of on-island agents and have them give you a list to consider. Study the websites and narrow your picks down to 3 or 4 and THEN come back to the forum for input from us. Do your homework first and then ask for help reaching your final decision. We're here to help.

Thank you for all of the responses. The Calabasha places look pretty nice and are very reasonable. I Am trying to work out all of the details right now on how I will set up my trip.

P.S. I was about to book my flight today and the price went up 200 dollars per ticket so I am in a wait and see period to see if they go down or if I will bite the bullet. I am pretty frustrated by this. 🙁

Diana2 had a good suggestion.....check out the on island agents....there are so many villas to choose....i know it can be overwhelming but gee, what a problem !!! here are some sites : www.caribbeanvilla.com -- www.destinationstjohn.com -- www.suitestjohn.com -- www.cateredto.com -- www.seaviewhomes.com -- www.stjohnusvi.org -- all are reputable agents ! so , start looking and narrow it down to a few choices and come back and we can give you some feedback / reviews !!

Here are two villas that meet your cost range. Over the Rainbow we’ve always wanted to rent, and Round House we’ve stayed in several times. Both are remote to restaurants, town, etc. but next to the Nat’l Park. We like remote.

For both of these, you would need a rental vehicle. Good luck and have a great trip!
