Hello everyone!

Is there a company out there with a larger sail boat or catamaran for 9 people on St Thomas? I've seen so many that hold 6 and it sounds so wonderful!

Thank you!

Nine is a tuff number. The capatin's license that most captains hold here is considered a "six-pac", meaning they can only take six paying passengers. The ones that have a fifty ton (next level up) license usually pilot boats that hold 20+. It might be hard to find one in your price range, for that amount of people, but I'm sure you'll find something. Pamela may be able to help steer you in the right direction. Pamela?

Marty,
Where do you live?
I want to find someone who has a big off shore power boat. Like a cigarette/scrab type of boat. We just want to go for a ride in a real fast boat--like 75-100mph. I dont want to do the tour thing--just some ocean riding Know how I can hook up with something like this?

Try contacting Pam Heath with Daysail Fantasy or Sharon Allan with the Winifred. Their boats only hold six but with larger groups they sometimes do tandem sails either with each other or someone else. It's worth a try.

Summerwaters, I live on STT (almost eight years now). I can't think of any "go fast" boats, that can achieve those speeds, with guests on board, ff the top of my head. You might like The Screaming Eagle jet boat, though. http://www.atlantisadventures.com/tour_info.php?site=13&tour=130&cat=8 It doesn't go quite as fast as you want to go, but they do some serious turns and spins that make for a wet 'n wild ride, just for the adventure of it. Quite fun.

A wonderful boat and captain and crew goes out of Nanny Cay on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. It is a 72 foot Erwin that normally sales with four couples plus crew, but maybe they can take one more. The boat is the Endless Summer ll

I have been inquiring about a charter for 10-12 and was given the name of 2 places - Stormy Petrel and (2) a 'Captain Bob' with an old but intersting teak boat through a company caled Motor Yacht Cinnamon Bay - both sound nice and can't decide has anyone heard of them?

Hi Becky,

I had the same problem as you. I needed a boat for a party of eight. In the past I have done 2 small boats, but our party wanted to be all together this year. I have also rented a catamaran from Tortola, which is way fun but I couldn't find any from St. Thomas for a group of eight.

This year I have booked the 'NIGHTWIND' out of Sapphire Beach Resort. It is $150 per person but they will exclusively take just our 8 people. I spoke with June Marsh, the owner, on the phone and she seems very nice and accommodating.

Hope this helps!

p.s. I'm also a Becky (from Indiana)!

You might also want to check Calypso out of St. John...it's a sailing catamaran. Their website is CalypsoVI.com. If you do use them, tell them their neighbor Spanish Angel recommended them.
