Hi-

We will be mooring at Leinster Bay, St. John in March.
In some of the great tie up spots there are "provisioning" boats that come around and sell ice, snacks.
Does anyone know if Leinster Bay is one of the stops?
Does anyone have any great recommendations of a better place to tie up on St. John?
We are a little in one spot since we will only have a captain for part of the time and will have to rely on a dingy.
No Ice, No cold drinks!!

There are no provisioning boats at all. You will need to take the dinghy to shore in Cruz Bay ot Coral Bay and then walk or get a ride to the nearest store.

From Leinster -- If you go around the corner of Mary Point and pick up a mooring in Francis or Maho bay you can take the dinghy in to the Campground beach - [bring the big boat NOT the dinghy for this trip]-- - go up the stairs to the commissary there and provision and get ice. They also have a great dining room for drinks and dinner if you stay overnite there. But It is close enough to take the boat back over to Leinster for your overnight stay if you want, after just getting ice and food. It is too long a walk to do this from the dinghy landing in Leinster - the ice would not make it.
If you are coming over from the BVI to do this however - realize that you are entering the USVI and should clear Customs in Cruz Bay before staying overnite or going ashore.
There are no 'provisioning boats' operating in the STJ anchorages that I have ever seen.
