Actually it is taking up a bit of space. If I view the message board as flat I can't see who has posted and can't click on the newest post. I have to click on the thread and then scroll to the last post or click on last page and then scroll. It takes more time that way. Anyway, so I view the board as threaded which works for me, but than I do have to scroll past this enormous thread and since I don't usually check the board every hour, I miss some good threads that continually get bumped off the first page because of this thread. It takes a while to click on the all the new posts to threads I am following and to new ones and then have to go page 2 and 3 to see which posts were missed because of this thread. I don't mind thread going off topic and even joined in the fun of this thread. It is just now becoming to much work to get around and enjoy the board. Starting a new Kenny thread couldn't hurt and letting this one go would give more room for other posts to stay on the first page and get read. I don't think Kenny nor his fans would mind a new thread to solve all problems, no? Thanks all.

My point was proven! This thread got lost under the weight of the other Kenny thread! 😛

But Teresa. If you looked at it in flat, you will see when someone new posts. It says new. Then you click on it. It's as simple as that.

OK, i'm confused. What's the consensus? Flat??

I want to make it clear, that the Kenny Chesney thread is not the only reason why I'm on this board, or why I reply when I think I have some information that may be valuable to some people.

I DO think that there's alot of valuable information that's given here, but hey, Kenny's name is going to come up every once in awhile and the other thread was alot of fun for almost everybody. Alot of posts were very funny and personally, I laughed alot. Bottom line is if you don't want to read a thread, don't read it.

Ronnie, the problem isn't flat or open. The problem is that it is just a bunch of chatter that has nothing remotely to do with visiting, nada/zilch, that should or could be in PM's. It's only a couple of people talking to each other.

Connie, consensus may have nothing to do with flat. Consensus might be to take it to PM's. Don't you think you've gone on a bit......

Yes I understand Ronnie. 🙂 I am not as think as you stupid I am.

I just like the threaded view where I can click on the actual post that is new and see who posted it. On a flat view I have to start at the beginning of the thread and scroll or page over to the end where the new post is located. It seems longer to me to get to the new post of a long thread on a flat view than it does on a threaded view. What would really make me happy is to have an ignore feature and click on a thread that I want to skip without having to scroll past it. But sadly this world does not seem to revolve around me. Sigh.

I will just crawl back into my hole and sulk. 🙁

Teresa, my sweet,

I'm not entirely sure of your situation, so don't feel dub--I mean,...dumb. Or, that you're the only one who's in the "duh" department.
I can't even program my new little television, horrors!!!
Come back out of that hole, honey. There has got to be a way to get your tail waggin' again.....RONNIE!!!!
.....There, hope that helps.

Teresa,
I'm not sure I understand you. If you have it on flat, and you are signed in, it will say "new" and then you just click on the last page number. You don't have to look at page after page. Maybe I misunderstood you, but it seems like you are making something difficult that is sooo easy!

Also,
to those of you who don't like the KC thread, don't click on it! so what if its a few people talking to each other? If I don't want to read it, I skip it!

talk about "duh" ! 🙂

Two issues.

Flat thread flattens every thread so you don't know what is necessarily not new in a thread if you feel like just reading a bit. It closes all threads.

The problem is that if you have the thread open the KC thread is taking up about 8 pages now and has to be scrolled through to the end to find the other threads. By continuing to post on the thread it is dropping newer threads to second pages and in most cases they won't be read.

That is what is happening as I see it.

OK promo, but if you are logged in - it tells you if there is a new post, right? I still really don't understand the problem. The thread takes up one line, same as all the other threads. You just click on the last page number of the thread IF it says "new" in yellow and IF you want to read it. There are many threads I skip over, and the KC thread is just as easy to skip as the others. I can't really get what the problem is - maybe I'm the dense one.

I'm going to try the flat view and see what happens there. I've just been been clicking on the last page and that's how I get the newer posts.

Promo...like there's never been any other posts that aren't related to the USVI's? It took on a life of it's on and to suggest to just skip over the post is about the same as saying take it to pm's. Guess that's an even situation right there.

I remember the old USVI On line format that was complete threaded. But, you could answer any one statement in the thread without it going to the end! Talk about confusing when you tried to follow a thread.

Teresa, I am sorry you felt I was calling you stupid. I was just trying to be logical about the viewing of the thread. A few months ago when I told some folks how to do it, I got so many responses from people thanking me for showing them how to do, and how much easier it made their viewing. I still think it is easier and one can ignore what they don't want to read.

Ronnie,

No I didn't think you were calling me stupid. I was trying to be funny and playful. I really appreciate you explaining to me. I am just a little bit stubborn and kind of like the old format that I was used too. I have tried the flat view and don't like that I can't see who posted. NBD (no big deal). Peace and Love to all.

I didn't even realize that I was in the flat view already...lol Go figure.

I do think the flat view is easier. You can tell what thread has new posts and you can click on the last page and see that instead of scrolling through all the posts.

LOL. Ronnie you are too funny. I really didn't mean to start anything terrible and I don't care how off topic things get. I just was missing out on some good posts as they go pushed down to the second page and I almost missed them. If you don't check the board often enough it happens. As some of you know I have been on these message boards for three years. The vacation board is more interesting to me now as I am planning vacation instead of looking for apartments on the relocation board. 🙂

I still think that some of the new posters to this board don't see a lot of good posts as well since the monster Kenny thread does push them off the page. I may be wrong and probably am, but one starts to think that the Kenny thread was in the way of good info. Of course I am constantly eating my words because now I am contributing to another Kenny thread that isn't helping anyone, well except me. This paradox is killing me!

Teresa (I will quit posting to any Kenny thread)

I actually took the time to read ALL of the posts on the Kenny board. It's pretty funny because almost everybody I see regularly on this board posted something. About Kenny himself, t shirts, slogans, things like that. Actually, some of the posts were hysterical.

There's a great way for new posters to find information on this message board and that's to click on search up above. I think what eventually happens is that alot of people find other interesting threads and then the addiction begins.

Connie,
I gotta agree with everything you just said!

Let's see now, how can I make this "relative" to the VI's??

What's bad is that I'v been skipping some VI threads to find the Kenny thread! ha!
